Which subject line works better? What day is the best day to send my ezine? What time should I send my ezine?
All three are common questions. So how do you decide?
The best way to decide is to conduct a series of tests to determine what your audience responds to in a favorable manner, these are called A/B Split Tests.
You can split your contacts into A group and B group and test subject lines, test days of the week to send your ezine, and the time of day to split your ezine.
In this video I’ll show you how to split your list based on the first letter of the first name. You could split it based on contact ID, but then you end up getting people who joined your list two years ago all in the same group. By splitting the list by first name, it makes the split more random.
I’ll also show you how to split your existing list, plus put future people into a category.
Side note: If you want to split-test a campaign and have the winning sequence become the default sequence after a goal is reached, you can do this automatically with the third party plugin, Plus This.
We have a list in which many of our users don’t have their first names entered. We found that we got more sign ups by only asking for the email address. Is there a way to do this if you have a list in which many people do not have first names entered?
You could do the same thing only set the rule to apply the tag to use the criteria email starts with a, c, e, etc., and then b, d, f, etc. Hope that helps!!
Yes that does help. Thanks.
Unfortunately, Infusionsoft doesn’t allow you to sort emails by first letter. So this option won’t work. You’ll have to do a tag work-around.
