As you know, Infusionsoft has recently done some updates. What you may not know is they’ve updated how someone opts out…and you can add your own reason to the list.
Infusionsoft has recently made some updates to their application. One of those updates is having the ability to add a contact to a campaign or remove a contact from a campaign within the contact record.

As we move into the holidays, all of us at Strategic Virtual Solutions want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Your new customer has purchased. Now what? You want to make sure you wow them in the delivery of the product they purchased, but you also want to continue building a long-term relationship with them. The key to doing this effectively is to offer follow-up customer service. Through follow-up customer service you continue offering valuable content, keeping lines of communication open, communicating your appreciation to the customer, and offering more of your products and services.
A great deal of time, work and effort goes into effective customer follow-up, and this is where automation can help. Automation takes over routine tasks and does them for you so that you can focus on more important things — those things that you absolutely must do personally.
The “Thank You” Message
Probably the most important part of your follow-up is the “thank you” message. This is a quick and simple note letting the customer know that you appreciate their service. This message lets them know how they can access the product they purchased if it’s an online product or when they can expect it in the mail. Keep in mind that they can buy from anybody else at any time. This email lets them know that you know that, and you appreciate that they’ve chosen you.
If you use Infusionsoft you can connect it to a service like Send Out Cards to automatically send thank you gifts to your customers — an extra bonus they weren’t expecting!!
An Email Course
When your customer buys from you, you have a great opportunity to build a relationship with them through your follow-up care. A great way to do this is through an email course. This is a series of emails that teaches your customer how to do something. Identify some problem they face and help them solve it. Each email is an individual lesson. This can be done through an autoresponder email marketing software program. I prefer Infusionsoft, but other options include Aweber, Mailchimp, and many others.
Customer Loyalty Program
Another great automated follow-up option is the customer loyalty program. This is a program that offers incentives for customers to buy more from you. After so many purchases, the customer gets a reward of some kind. Entire customer loyalty programs can be automated through services and software programs. Again, Infusionsoft is a great option to use to create your customer loyalty program.
An important part of customer follow-up is getting the customer’s feedback. As part of your automated follow-up care, you can send the customer a survey or form asking them for their opinions. This has two purposes. First, it lets the customer know that you’re concerned about them and listening. Second, it gets you valuable insights into how your customer feels.
What NOT to Automate
Automation is extremely useful for customer follow-up, but there are times when it’s inappropriate. When people need to speak to another human being on the other end, automation makes them feel like they’re dealing with a faceless corporation that doesn’t care about them.
When a customer needs to reach you for any reason, you should be available to them. Provide them with plenty of ways to reach you easily and take care of their problems, questions or issues as soon as possible. Use automation where it’s appropriate, but make sure there’s a real human when your customer needs one.
What other things have you automated in your customer follow up?
If you’ve ever needed to manually create a subscription, change the next payment date, put a subscription on hold, or stop a subscription altogether, watch this video to see how to do that!
Email marketing is an essential area to automate when it comes to your marketing. You simply can’t do email marketing effectively without some version of an autoresponder program, which automates subscriptions, list organization and message broadcasts. Here are 7 tips for automating your email marketing for the best results possible.
Offer Something Valuable
Gone are the days of “sign up for my newsletter” being effective!
The freebie you offer as an enticement to sign-up, the content that drives traffic to your sign-up page, and the content of your email messages all need to be very high quality. Don’t offer subscribers anything but the best. It’s the value that will keep your subscribers tuned in and lead them to buy. You can automate and let the program run by itself, but make sure you spend time on your content first so that your readers see the benefits. Have you ever wanted to know what contacts received a certain tag in a particular time period? Example: Who received the ezine tag in the month of October?
This video shows you how!
Marketing automation is essential for online marketers. It’s not just a nice thing that adds to your productivity; it’s absolutely necessary and there’s one simple reason for that – It handles routine tasks so that you can focus your time and energy on more important things.
Saving Time for “Thinking Work”
What should you be spending your time doing on a day-to-day business? Your true role as a marketer is to study your market, and plan and execute marketing strategies. In other words, it’s “thinking” work.
You also are the one who is working one-on-one or one-to-many with your clients – the work only YOU can do!
However, when you’re bogged down with simple routine tasks that anyone (or any machine) could do for you, you’re losing that precious thinking, organizing and client time. The hours you could be devoting to really careful consideration of your brand image, mind mapping your overall marketing strategy, or working with clients are wasted away on busy work. Today I want to share with you this new tool that I’ve come across. It’s called Sync Sumo. If you’re running Facebook ads and you have Infusionsoft, this service allows you to sync your contacts and target them when you’re running ads.
Yes, you can manually upload your contact list to Facebook and target them, but then as new people sign up, you’d have to re-upload the list. Sync Sumo automatically syncs new contacts, which makes retargeting them in ads much easier!!
Tyler Garns of Box Out Marketing says: “This thing is MAGIC! If you’ve never used custom audiences in Facebook to advertise, you’re really missing out. This feature allows you to advertise directly to YOUR list. This makes your advertising ultra targeted and cheaper.”
Check it out (Note: This is an affiliate link, and I may get commissions off your purchase. But I wouldn’t recommend it if I didn’t believe it’s a great tool!)
Boy, I can’t believe it’s time for another Infusionsoft Tip and Trick. It seems like time flies by way too fast!!
Have you ever had a link in an email and you wanted to send it to an Infusionsoft-hosted thank you page? But then you saw how UGLY it was? And you don’t know HTML so you couldn’t make it look any better?
